Customs Compliance Jobs
Customs compliance managers direct, manage, and maintain overall customs compliance procedures to ensure that their companies operate in conformity with various rules and regulations. Customs compliance officers are responsible for measuring corporate compliance ratings and achieving a high overall compliance rate.
Customs compliance officers are also expected to monitor regulatory and legislative changes within their organizations as well as oversee pre-classification of merchandise and interpret and respond to inquiries. Additionally, customs compliance managers often handle supplier management duties, including interfacing with freight forwarders, customs brokers, US customs officers, and external customers.
A job seeker with a bachelor's degree in logistics or a related field and six to eight years of experience related to compliance procedures and rules can apply for a customs compliance manager or customs compliance officer job. Having a customs broker's license is a plus.
