Compliance Senior Engineer-18808
You can make a salary. Or you can make a difference. Or you can work as a Compliance Senior Engineer at Herman Miller and make both.
About this Opportunity
Come join Herman Miller’s Sustainability Team dedicated to making the world a better place. As part of the Product Stewardship Team, you will help ensure our global portfolio of furniture products are compliant to an increasingly complex set of chemical regulations. You will lead and propose projects to determine the regulatory compliance of new products and lead cross-functional teams to update the compliance status of existing products. You'll work directly with nearly every department in the company and our subsidiaries to assess, document, and collect compliance to specific product regulations.
You will also learn and become an expert in the Compliance Management Software used for tracking this information, and have the opportunity to increase the breadth of the role based on your interests. You will learn and become an expert in LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) of Herman Miller’s products and translate those results into public Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).
As a Compliance Senior Engineer, you'll apply engineering theories and concepts to assignments under minimal supervision and in support of business objectives, and provide engineering leadership and expertise. You will conduct feasibility studies, determine manpower and cost estimates, and develop engineering criteria. You'll perform analyses to develop design options or recommendations for structures, systems, and components. You'll also apply originality, ingenuity, and knowledge of other disciplines in solving complex problems. Emphasis in your work will be placed on your team participation, ability to plan, and ability to achieve results on assigned projects.
