About Uber

We’re changing the way people think about transportation. Not that long ago we were just an app to request premium black cars in a few metropolitan areas. Now we’re a part of the logistical fabric of more than 600 cities around the world. Whether it’s a ride, a sandwich, or a package, we use technology to give people what they want, when they want it.

For the people who drive with Uber, our app represents a flexible new way to earn money. For cities, we help strengthen local economies, improve access to transportation, and make streets safer.

And that’s just what we’re doing today. We’re thinking about the future, too. With teams working on autonomous trucking and self-driving cars, we’re in for the long haul. We’re reimagining how people and things move from one place to the next.

About the Role:

Our People Operations Team is looking for a HR Compliance Manager to play a lead role in building the operations infrastructure that will help Uber scale our people programs. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about partnering with Employee Relations, Internal Audit, Legal Compliance and others to ensure all our HR policies and processes are compliant and well-documented.

What Youll Do:

Support all HR-related global compliance activities, including SOX, I-9s, background checks, in preparation for company IPO

Own the documentation and publication of all HR policies, in partnership with the HR process owners/subject matter experts

Advise and assist HR process and control owners in maintaining consistent updated process and policy documentation

Manage audits and control implementations from the HR side, in partnership with Internal Audit

Continuously evaluate HR processes for any compliance gaps or policy conflicts and drive projects to mitigate those risks

Manage updates for internal policies as employment law changes (i.e. GDPR compliance)

Support internal and external groups on audit requests and requirements

Develop and execute on training and communications to facilitate awareness of HR compliance needs among the People Team

What You’ll Need:

Over 7 years of prior experience in an HR operations, compliance, legal/paralegal, or auditing role

Experience with employment regulations and/or compliance standards

Passionate about developing process documentation and flowcharts

Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail are key attributes

Ability to partner easily cross-functionally

Resilient, self-aware professional with exposure to diverse experiences and a deep appreciation for diverse perspectives.

About the Team

The People Operations team is responsible for building and scaling the operations infrastructure upon which Uber’s people processes can scale, as the company marches towards an exciting future. We care deeply about ensuring the most effective experience for our employees and contingent workers, in alignment with the larger business and organizational strategy. Our scope offers us the unique exposure to the entire People team ecosystem as well as a vast array of cross functional partners.

Company Profile
On a snowy Paris evening in 2008, Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp had trouble hailing a cab. So they came up with a simple idea—tap a button, get a ride. What started as an app to request premium black cars in a few metropolitan areas is now changing the logistical fabric of cities around the world. Whether it’s a ride, a sandwich, or a package, we use technology to give people what they want, when they want it.

What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
