Guardian Mortgage a Division, of Sunflower Bank, N.A. is looking for a motivated HMDA Compliance Specialist
in our Plano, TX Location. The HMDA Compliance Specialist position will provide Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) related compliance support for mortgage origination and operations including variety of duties, both clerical and technical. There is a heavy emphasis on training mortgage originators, processors, and underwriters on the correct procedures for managing loan denials, withdrawal’s, approved but not accepted and originated loans with the 2018 HMDA requirements. Monthly HDMA data review, analysis and correction will be completed with team member to ensure data accuracy, validity and identify additional training needs, both group focused and individual training sessions.
Has a strong working knowledge of the HMDA requirements including the 2018 HMDA reporting changes.
Review loan application and source data on a regular basis and resolve inaccuracies in HMDA reporting requirements.
Review originated and non-originated mortgage loan applications to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adequacy of supporting documentation; follow-up on completion of all items
Perform additional random testing of HMDA to validate LAR, as needed. • Provide timely reporting and trending of errors to management.
Assist/advise other departments with HMDA-related compliance issues or performance. • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education / Experience Required
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years mortgage lending experience. Experience with HMDA is required.
Desired computer skills: Encompass, Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work independently, problem solve and make decisions with minimal supervision
Complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner and be conscientious about assignments and deadlines.
Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.
Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and work to maintain constructive working relationships.
Willingness to take initiative to investigate and resolve issues.
