Director of Corporate Compliance
The Director of Corporate Compliance reports directly to the VP, Chief Compliance Officer. The Director?s overriding responsibility is to support the detection and mitigation of risk and to advance the Corporate Compliance Program (?Program?) to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct.
The Director of Corporate Compliance is responsible for maintaining current knowledge of relevant state and federal laws and regulations and acts as a resource and representative when compliance issues arise.
The Director will support the implementation of appropriate policies and procedures, support compliance training, conduct investigations and maintain a system of compliance reporting. The Director will be responsible for following up on reported incidents of non-compliance, coordinating internal investigations and preparing reports on incidents and investigation findings. The Director will also assist with the evaluation of areas of potential billing, Stark, Anti-kickback, and fraud and abuse compliance risk and collaborate with management to implement solutions to eliminate potential risks.
The Director of Corporate Compliance is responsible for maintaining current knowledge of relevant state and federal laws & regulations and acts as an expert resource and representative when compliance issues arise. Coordinates system-wide compliance efforts among departments with specific areas of substantive compliance responsibility; chairs Legacy?s Compliance Committee monthly meeting; monitors Legacy?s compliance program; works with Legacy?s Compliance Team and Compliance Committee to implement policies and responses to compliance issues and consults with program staff to ensure LH compliance plan is followed.

Bachelor?s degree in Healthcare related field or equivalent experience required. Master?s Degree preferred.
Seven (7) or more years of progressive experience in healthcare compliance, internal audit, revenue cycle and/or operations required, with a minimum of 5 years leading a complex, multi-site compliance program, including multiple hospitals, ambulatory sites, physician groups, lab, and research. Demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to Legacy services. Minimum of five years of managerial experience in a healthcare organization required. Demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to Legacy services. Extensive knowledge/experience in coding, billing, and documentation compliance and management of an effective compliance program, including training, monitoring, and conducting and documenting investigations, addressing violations, and monitoring corrective actions. Demonstrated record of effectively managing compliance teams and initiatives. Highly developed written and verbal communication and presentation skills; ability to present to various levels within the organization. Strong interdepartmental collaboration skills; willingness to engage across teams and demonstrates the ability to lead indirectly through influence. Leadership skills necessary to promote a compliance oriented culture within the organization. Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects and a variety of complicated tasks at the same time.
Health Care Compliance Association certification required within one year. Certification as an RHIT, CHP, or CHPS also preferred.
