Primary Responsibilities of the Operational Compliance Specialist\u00a0includes: \r
The Operational Compliance Specialist is responsible for maintaining full compliance and execution of the company\u2019s policies related to import and export transactions, controlled substances, and other programs. The Specialist provides technical and day-to-day guidance to researchers. Working with the Trade Compliance Manager, the Operational Compliance Specialist is responsible for maintaining the full compliance and execution of import and export transactions conducted by NIBRI and monitoring the completion and maintenance of trade documentation.\r
Ensure full compliance for import transactions, including issuance of clearance instructions, monitoring, record keeping, and (internal and external) auditing.\r
Ensure full compliance for export transactions including valuation, classification, country of origin, execution of export license determination, the completion of export documentation, issuance of shipper\u2019s letter of instruction, filing of Electronic Export Information and export record retention.\r
Monitor research compounds for controlled substances and other regulatory compliance aspects\r
Assist with the creation and standardization of compliance programs, including writing SOPs and conducting training\r
Interface with customs brokers, suppliers and service providers to ensure consistency with defined import/export processes\r
Support the Archives and Records Management function- search, file, archive, and retrieve business and research documentation\r
Work closely with NIBR Legal and Compliance, Quality, NBS HSE & Security and the company\u2019s Trade Compliance to ensure compliance with all business, legal and regulatory requirements\r
\u2022Demonstrated experience in the clearance of import shipments to the U.S., customs brokerage, interactions with brokers and Customs and Border Protection\r
\u2022Demonstrated experience with export shipments, including checking for export license requirements and export reporting to US authorities\r
\u2022 Practical experience applying US Customs regulations, US Export Administration Regulations and license requirements, Harmonized Tariff Schedule, General Rules of Interpretation, INCOTERMS, and brokerage\r
Education and Experience Requirement of the Operational Compliance Specialist\u00a0includes:\u00a0\r
Minimum 1-4 years of experience in importing and exporting, preferably in the scientific industry\r
\tContract assignment, duration 12 months.\u00a0\u00a0\r
\tWork schedule: full-time, first shift.\u00a0\r
