CSuite Financial Partners has been retained by our client, a private equity company owned San Dimas, CA based legal services company, to place a Director of Compliance. Our client is a leader in the highly complex and heavily regulated legal services ecosystem it serves.
Effectively, there are four constituents for every unit of work:
the customer (attorney) ordering
the company recording value
from the transaction
the third-party (insurance company) paying
for the transaction
the ecosystem (legislative, executive, judicial, and media) measuring the validity
of the transaction.
At all times, it is essential that each unit of work produced by The Company be correct, complete, and compliant for all parties
, and all times stand well above any high road measure of accuracy, thoroughness, and compliance. As the senior leader representing the compliance of The Company for all constituents; you will be responsible to make sure that The Company is conducting its activities in full and complete compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and requirements.
This is a key leadership role reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (and the Board of Directors) and you will be leading a function that is the face of the company to the ecosystem as a whole. The reputation of the company will rest on your shoulders.
Interfacing with the constituents to develop a deeply informed compliance model that is accurate, complete, and persuasive – that (in turn) will drive and inform performance,
Using that model to define all areas requiring action, communication, documentation, process, and measurement to assure compliance,
Defining and maintaining all the necessary system, process, procedures, and reporting necessary to assure that compliance requirements are understood, visible, and achieved.
Collaborating with company and other constituents to identify and develop a compliance model addressing each compliance possibility and requirement,
On day-to-day business activities and priorities to assure specific areas of compliance by focusing attention on escalated matters and resolving complex issues,
Managing toward the longer term by maintaining full compliance while optimizing performance.
5+ years of work experience in compliance – with a focus on complex regulatory requirements (and workers’ compensation) a plus.
BA/BS Degree in Business, Economics, Political Science, or Philosophy; JD Degree desired, and CRCM (Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager) is a plus.
Well-developed analytic, data, and statistical skills (i.e. pivot tables).
Proven leadership credentials with a record of building, leading, and motivating individuals with credibility, influence, and professionalism.
Prioritizing and managing cross functional activities, making difficult decisions, and maintaining composure – the position will require multi-tasking along with high emotional intelligence.
Strong written, oral, and listening skills.
$125K to $150K base + $30K of incentive compensation for maximum compensation of $180K.
