Job Description
At Wells Fargo, we want to satisfy our customers’ financial needs and help them succeed financially. We’re looking for talented people who will put our customers at the center of everything we do. Join our diverse and inclusive team where you’ll feel valued and inspired to contribute your unique skills and experience.
Help us build a better Wells Fargo. It all begins with outstanding talent. It all begins with you.
Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.
Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM) is in the Wealth Investment Management (WIM) business of Wells Fargo.  WFAM strives to deliver superior investment capabilities and solutions to help clients achieve their financial goals.  WFAM offers the expertise of over 29 investment teams, each focused on specialized, niche portfolio management strategies, to meet the diverse needs of clients. Collectively, they provide clients with a broad array of investment options across all major asset classes, including actively managed equity, fixed-income, liquidity, stable value, and alternative investments. Investment strategies are accessible through a variety of product structures, including institutional separate accounts, retail separately managed accounts, mutual funds (open-end, closed-end, variable trust), private funds (hedge funds, commingled investment vehicles, medium term note programs), and Luxembourg-domiciled funds (UCITS). We have over 1,000 dedicated team members, including more than 500 investment professionals, providing a global reach with offices and clients around the world.
Specifically, this position will support the Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM) Risk Team and provide operational risk oversight, perform risk assessments, participate in projects and reviews covering the WFAM Line of Business. May also support WFAM’s risk appetite program and risk management reporting of various business areas, affiliated managers and its distributor within the WFAM line of business.  Reporting audiences may include various executive and senior management levels of WFAM, Corporate Risk and WIM Risk, and WFAM product boards.
Responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring a risk-based program to identify, assess and mitigate any operational risk that arises from inadequate or failed internal processes, people, systems or external events, while maintaining a balance between risk mitigation and operational efficiency. Works with assigned business units providing operational risk expertise and consulting for projects and initiatives with moderate to high risk. Interfaces with enterprise and line of business subject matter experts to facilitate the implementation of Corporate policies in various risk disciplines. Develops testing strategies and methodologies that evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems and internal controls; analyzes business and/or systems changes to determine impact; identifies and assesses operational risk issues and assigns risk ratings consistent with established policy standards. Consults with business to develop corrective action plans and effectively manage change. Identifies training opportunities; may design/coordinate the development of training materials and deliver training. Reports findings and drafts recommendations to mitigate risk to operational risk and business line management.
