Senior Manager, Income Tax Compliance
Google's in-house tax team knows all things corporate tax. Made up of smart, perceptive Googlers with a flair for domestic, international and sales and use tax, the knowledge and expertise of this team runs deep. You have years of experience in this field and an extensive knowledge of those tax issues most relevant to internet companies. While we don't give our Googlers individual tax advice, you make it easy for Googlers to get what they need to make good tax decisions. You find ways to work smarter by streamlining and automating our tax processes and systems, and find ways to be both innovative and compliant.
You will serve as the primary tax department contact for all U.S. income tax compliance matters for Alphabet and its business units.

Plan and manage preparation and review of all federal, state and local corporate and partnership tax returns for Alphabet and its business units.
Plan and manage preparation and review of quarterly estimated tax payments, provision-to-return true ups, and cash tax forecasts for planning.
Plan and manage an efficient tax compliance process utilizing software tools and maintain audit-ready workpapers.
Assist in quarterly tax provision inputs including preparation of certain deferred proof, review provision to return true-ups, design and monitor SOX compliance internal controls for domestic tax compliance related inputs.
Support U.S. federal and state tax audits of Alphabet and its business units.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or similar, or equivalent practical experience.
12 years of experience in a corporate tax department.
Advanced degree in relevant discipline: JD/LLM, Master's in Taxation, MBA or CPA
Experience managing tax compliance requirements and related processes for large multi-national technology company with a deep understanding of C corporation, partnership, and multi-state concepts
Solid accounting skills including significant exposure to ASC 740
Thorough working knowledge of tax law, GAAP, and regulatory requirements (SOX)
Action-oriented self starter with excellent project management and leadership skills; ability to juggle and prioritize multiple time sensitive projects.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional business partners at all levels and strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to explain complex tax matters to non-tax professionals; able to build effective working relationships with internal partners and external advisers.
