The NA Compensation and Compliance Manager
leads and implements practices and policies to ensure compensation compliance standards are achieved consistently for North America operations. This role ensures compliance standards of human resources are adhered to regarding employment records, data management, and applicable employment reporting requirements as required by law.
Works closely with Talent Acquisition to ensure fairness and equity in new hire salaries, promotions, demotions and lateral moves.
Reviews recommendations for salary adjustments and approves salary offers ensuring salary administration guidelines are applied
Ensures compliance regarding compensation actions related to, but not limited to: Severance Agreements, administrative (EEOC, FEP, DOL,etc.), and employment regulations such as FMLA, ADA, ADEA, etc.
Ensures employment records are accurately maintained in accordance with all applicable employment regulations: i.e. employee file contents, accuracy of I-9's and supporting documentation, and access control.
Conducts audits related to, but not limited to, peer equity reviews, disparate impact, equal pay, etc.
Provides management and oversight of North America incentive plans in accordance with the Total Rewards overall directions and guidance.
Utilizes existing salary grading process to assign position grades, develop job descriptions and job function checklists and FLSA determination.
Conducts periodic salary surveys/reviews in conjunction with Total Rewards.
Maintains knowledge and understanding of Union and other North American administrative and employment regulations.
Identify areas for process improvement and potential liability, communicating those issues to functional manager.
Works directly with HR Leadership and Greif Legal to respond to compliance requests for litigation, investigations and audits.
Assists Internal Audit with internal HR-related audits; and supports external HR-related audits.
Develops and manages HR-layered audit structure including scope, cadence, and responsible parties, and recommend and monitor corrective actions.
Work with HR team to ensure legal compliance with all posting Laws/requirements.
Any other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree required.
10 years' experience in a compensation and compliance related role.
Thorough knowledge of the employment regulations to include but not limited to FLSA, FMLA, ADA, ADEA, Sexual Harassment, etc.
