Safety and Compliance Manager

We are currently seeking a Safety and Compliance Manager for our location in Dallas, TX.
Under the direction of the Director of Risk Management the Safety and Compliance Manager will provide professional support and insure compliance in the administration of the Company’s Workers' Compensation, Auto, and General Liability Reporting Programs.
Additionally, the Safety and Compliance Manager will provide support and ensure compliance with regards to the Company’s Safety and Risk Management Programs.
The position will insure Executive Management that all employees comply with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, that Company policies and procedures are being followed, and that behavior in the organization meets the company’s Safety Standards.Responsible for the timely reporting of all Worker’s Compensation (“WC”), General Liability (“GL”) and Auto claims to Company’s insurance carrier
Review and investigate all incident reports and follow-up with claimants and investigating agencies
Initiate communication with claimants reporting property damage to reach a mutually agreeable resolution
Supervise and direct the work of the Safety and Compliance Coordinator(s)
Manage the Company’s Quality Assurance Program
Manage the Company’s Modified Duty Program and communicate with WC Liaison/Consultant
Conduct Accident Review Boards
Provide weekly reviews and updates to Upper Management regarding the status of all WC, GL and Auto Claims
Assist in completing safety and environmental inspections, identify issues and develop corrective action plans to insure compliance with applicable safety, health and environmental regulations including OSHA, EPA, HAZMAT, DOD, and state and local regulations
Assist in conducting safety training orientation sessions to ensure that policies and procedures are followed
Help to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future
Monitor and provide direction and management of the Safety Hotline
Institute and maintain an effective compliance communication program for the organization, including promoting (a) use of the Safety Hotline; (b) heightened awareness of Standards of Safety, and (c) understanding of new and existing compliance issues and related policies and procedures Identify poor performing employees from a Risk and Safety standpoint
Help to develop and implement the organization’s risk management program in a manner that fulfills the mission and strategic goals of the organization while complying with state and federal laws and accreditation standards related to safety and risk management
Investigate and analyze root causes, patterns, or trends that could result in compensatory events
Assist in processing summonses and claims against the Company by working with legal counsel to coordinate the investigation, processing, and defense of claims against the organization
Actively participate in or facilitate committees related to risk management, safety, and reporting improvement Independent, strong communication skills, follow direction and meet deadlines. Well organized with the ability to gather, maintain, and present upon large amounts of data. Demonstrated interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
A minimum of three years’ experience in the telecommunications field and a minimum of three years’ experience in one or more of the following fields: risk management, quality improvement, business administration, or insurance claims investigation.
Excellent writing and analytical skills.
Demonstrated solid leadership skills including: coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building.
Associate degree in business or related field or at least 5 years of experience in Safety, Risk Management, Quality Improvement or Insurance Claims investigation.
A valid drivers’ license with no major violations in the past 3 years.
Proven record of accomplishment of achieving results.
Prior success working closely and building relationships with diverse groups of people.
Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously and provide leadership to achieve corporate objectives.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
An Associate Degree from an accredited university with a business-related degree preferred and a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in one or more of the following: claims management & resolution, insurance claims adjustment, safety and/or Field Operations or a respective combination of education and experience equivalent to perform duties listed.
Frequent standing and walking; must be able to see (depth perception, near acuity and far acuity) and hear.
Must be able to tolerate hot and cold temperatures depending on the season; must be able to wear personal protective equipment.
Must be able to present a neat well-groomed appearance according to the dress code stated in the Company handbook.
Corporate Office with occasional visits to the Company Field Locations.
