Collaborates with supervisor to implement and administer assigned elements of the Credit Union's (CU) Compliance Program and its supporting processes. Performs compliance risk assessments and or compliance monitoring, develops and maintains the compliance monitoring and training program. Evaluates the CU's compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
Leads compliance monitoring reviews with a defined scope and objective and advises management on establishing specific policy, procedures, and processes for the CU's compliance with all applicable Federal and State laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and applicable consumer protection rules and regulations. Advises management and staff of emerging compliance issues and consults and guides the CU in the establishment of controls to mitigate risks.
Maintains knowledge of current and pending laws and regulations affecting the financial industry. Advises management and staff of emerging compliance issues, trends, consults, and guides the CU in the establishment of controls to mitigate compliance risks.
Five (5) plus years working in a financial or Credit Union/Bank/S&L required.
Bachelor in Business or Bachelor's degree in associated field which includes finance, law, communication and any other related subject matter. Equivalent combination of education and experience to include completion of specialized compliance training and at least five years banking and/or regulatory experience with solid understanding of regulations will also be considered.
Proficient PC skills (Micorsoft Suite) and ability to learn new software, summarize and present data in an effective manner.
CUCE and/or NCCO preferred; a
bility to obtain Compliance Certification if upon hire non-existent, i.e. CUCE, NCCO, to include BSA.
