On behalf of the Privacy Office and Privacy/Security Legal, manage the investigation and assessment of individual privacy and security incidents involving the compromise of Aetna, customer or member information, systems or facilities from a regulatory and risk perspective. Support process improvements and controls, training and awareness and related regulatory interaction.
Incumbent will be responsible for:
Incident investigation, working independently and with urgency, thoroughness and appropriate judgment within an investigation protocol
Drafting clear and comprehensive risk assessments for incidents as applicable
Drafting written communications that address regulatory requirements and are appropriately tailored to the audience (e.g., notices to members, regulators, and plan sponsors).
Understanding and keeping abreast of applicable law, regulations and requirements, including HIPAA and state or international privacy requirements as well as the current cybersecurity landscape
Coordination with business, compliance, security and other internal stakeholders
Coordination with external vendors, including forensics
Interaction with regulators and law enforcement as applicable and appropriate
A strategic focus on identifying trends and process improvements
Supporting training and awareness activity
Prior experience with federal and state laws governing health care and/or our company and in particular privacy and security is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience working independently but collaboratively on complex issues
Adaptability to new situations and the desire to learn all aspects of the company
2-4 years of experience in investigations, regulatory, compliance or legal role
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
