We have an exciting opportunity for a Government Compliance Sr. Auditor to join our Government Compliance team in San Diego, California. With consultative direction, within the Internal Audit and Government Compliance department, this position will act as a technical expert in the area of government compliance, and will be responsible for performing research and analyses and providing guidance and support to the company’s General Counsel and/or operating segments to assure activities are in compliance with government rules and regulations, including FAR and applicable agency supplements, CAS, the company’s government contract terms, and the company’s policies and procedures. The position will also independently perform, or lead/mentor other team members in the conduct of, internal audits of the company’s business systems, as required by DFARS. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides advice and guidance to management regarding and compliance matters and internal controls as needed.Represents the company as a government compliance technical expert on assigned projects. Researches, interprets, and evaluates the Company’s compliance with contractual requirements, including terms, conditions, and government procurement regulations such as FAR, DFARS, and DEAR, and cost accounting standards (CAS).Evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of the Company’s business systems and related internal controls.Evaluates employee compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures involving various functions and/or processes.Identifies documents, summarizes, reports, and presents audit findings or results to management. Makes recommendations for corrective action and verifies the implementation of agreed-upon corrective actions.Acts as a lead auditor and/or provides direction to less experienced professional staff. Interfaces with DCAA and/or DCMA and external auditors on a variety of audit inquiries. Organizes, schedules, and conducts workload to meet established milestones.Observes all company procedures, laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever conducting business on behalf of the Company.Maintains the confidentiality of company documents and discussions as required.Performs other audits, reviews, or duties as assigned or required.We recognize and appreciate the value and contributions of individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences and welcome all qualified individuals to apply. ,employmentType:Full-Time Salary,identifier:29972BR,qualifications:Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in accounting and/or finance and fifteen or more years of progressive government compliance experience, including at least five years of auditing or consulting in a corporate environment, preferably with a government contractor, as a government compliance consultant, or with a government agency such as DCAA. May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education. US Citizenship is required. Demonstrates a detailed and extensive expertise in and application of industry and government compliance principles, theories, concepts, standards, and practices, as well as project leadership skills including organizing, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones. Must be customer focused and possess: the ability to identify issues and develop solutions to a variety of compliance and audit matters of diverse scope and complexity; excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings;excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees, including senior managers and senior external parties on compliance and audit matters; the ability to maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information; the ability to represent the department or company on projects; and excellent analytical and organizational skills.
