Primary Job Functions:
Education and Experience:
College degree plus 3 or more years of experience working in international trade compliance.
Understanding of operational trade compliance processes & concepts.
Experience using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule.
SAP and/or Customs/Trade software experience is a plus.
Knowledge of export/ import compliance matters, including previous experience working with Customs Authorities.
Direct experience in the clearance of imports (customs brokerage, interactions with import brokers and freight forwarders)
Experience in using the Harmonized Tariff Classification.
Excellent understanding and experience with MS office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook, MS SharePoint).

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Performs audits on all entry documentation and export documents against foreign commercial invoice, purchase orders and customer orders.
Ensure timely pre and post entry auditing of all import and export documentation to ensure compliance to proper valuation, classification, country of origin, etc.
Clearly, accurately, and professionally document results and findings identified during reviews and audits.
Effectively communicate audit results, findings and nonconformance with relevant personnel internally and externally
Drive escalation as appropriate to resolve issue
Make entry and export adjustments with broker and freight forwarder when necessary
Based on audit findings, develop and document metrics, secure root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions from broker/freight forwarder.
Follow up to complete corrective actions or other action items as necessary to ensure a timely closure of audits.
Assist authorities and team members with completion of import/export compliance audits when necessary.
Maintain accurate Import/Export Compliance recordkeeping in accordance with Zoll requirements and Corporate Trade Compliance requirements.
Review documentation (BL, Commercial Invoice, etc.) to reduce the risk of problems during customs clearance and for recordkeeping purposes.
Assemble and coordinate international documentation with service provider and Customs agent for efficient customs clearance.
Support and participate in import/export compliance team initiatives
Recommend opportunities for improvement to strengthen the internal control structure
Any other projects and duties as assigned.
