Wholesale Banking provides financial solutions to businesses across the United States and globally. Our nine major business lines include Business Banking, Middle Market Banking, Government and Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Commercial Real Estate, Financial Institutions Group, Wells Fargo Commercial Capital, Wells Fargo Securities, and the Investment Portfolio. We also have groups in credit risk, group risk, finance, marketing, human relations, and the Wholesale Chief Operating Office that support our businesses.
This position is within the Middle Market Banking Operational Risk Team, and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring a risk-based program designed to identify, assess and mitigate operational risk that arises from MMB’s reliance on internal or Wholesale developed technology solutions. By leveraging a relationship approach with internal (MMB) and external (Wholesale/EIT) technology partners the technology risk consultant will provide technology risk management and consultation services to MMB support partners. The role is expected to cover all technology based risk management policies that apply to MMB.
This includes, but not limited to, consultative services and oversight of; information security topics, electronic records, end-user computing tools, access controls, data loss protection controls, payment systems, and cyber-security.
The position will serve as the technology-based risk subject matter expert for MMB to ensure internally designed solutions are compliant with core elements of technology risk management controls. The preferred candidate will possess advance skills in data analytics and management reporting with the goal of using data as a risk management tool.
Additionally, the technology risk consultant will be responsible to train to serve as the MMB third party risk officer, and work closely with the current MMB Engagement Manager.
The MMB Technology Risk Program owner will:
Serve as a subject matter expert for MMB for applicable technology related policies
Translate policy requirements into execution procedures that suit the needs of LOB, leveraging a risk-based approach
Development of performance measurements and management reporting, ensuring program transparency and risk escalation
Develop and maintain program documentation (Policy and Procedures)
Educate and support Middle Market Banking team members who own, or are directly exposed to, policy requirements
Experience with supporting or managing Technology Risk Management program frameworks such as: Information Security, Software Development Lifecycle, Cyber Security, Data Loss Protection, Access Controls, End User Computing Tool, Third Party Risk Management
Exposure to serving in a business analyst capacity with an ability to translate requirements into solutions
Strong data analytical skills with the ability to produce performance metrics (examples: Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Powerpoint, MS Access, or SQL skills)
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and experience in articulation of risks both verbally and in writing to various levels of management.
Ability to effectively multi-task and successfully work on several unrelated projects at the same time.
Ability to demonstrate strong organizational skills and adherence to strict deadlines in a fast paced environment.
Must be able to think strategically, act tactically and lead the implementation of change initiatives to meet the division’s needs.
Experience serving the Financial Services Industry (Experience supporting Wholesale Banking products)

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
6 years of experience in compliance, operational risk management (includes audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, or the management of a process or business with accountability for compliance or operational risk), or a combination of both; or 6 years of IT systems security, business process management or financial services industry experience, of which 3 years must include direct experience in compliance, operational risk management, or a combination of both
Advanced Microsoft Office skills

Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
A BS/BA degree or higher
