Risk and Compliance Manager, Consumer Hardware
The Google Compliance team makes sure that our business is always consistent with the current financial regulations. Comprised of master jugglers, this team balances Google's legal and compliance requirements with the dynamic needs of our users and the values of our company. As part of this team, you proactively identify pain points and gaps in existing policy frameworks and find innovative solutions. You develop efficient compliance systems and work with teams to implement these across the organization. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on one of Google’s most exciting product areas -- Consumer Hardware! This area includes Pixel, Chromecast, Google Home, Google WiFi, Daydream Virtual Reality and more.
On this dynamic team you will craft and implement solutions that optimize execution velocity and enhance our growing and increasingly complex systems and processes. You love data and harness its potential to influence decision making with Google’s executives in Finance, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Product, Engineering, Supply Chain and Operations. Your collaboration, process design, communication, data analysis and project management skills will all be heavily utilized.

And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.
Partner with Product, Sales, Engineering, Legal, Marketing, Supply Chain and Operations as well as other finance teams to identify and articulate risks across the organization. Propose solutions and secure management buy-in. Implement processes and systems solutions that mitigate risks identified, optimize the control environment, and scale with growth.
Provide leadership team with clear insights into drivers of inventory budgetary requests, risks and opportunities.
Develop methods/tools for tracking inventory forecasts/spend and understanding primary drivers of change. Approve releases of inventory spend against the budget.
Assist in developing and maintaining deal and spend governance policies, and execute trainings.
Use big data (and knack for the creative) to architect metrics, solve problems, and affect executive decision-making.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
6 years of work experience in finance/accounting/controls, consumer electronics, retail and/or manufacturing industries.
JD, CPA and/or MBA degree.
Specific knowledge of supply planning in a consumer goods environment; experience managing budgets, managing programs/launches, designing and implementing processes/controls; legal interest/knowledge.
Excellent quantitative, written, editorial, and presentation skills; innovative, organized, thorough, and detail-oriented. Familiarity in system implementations (supply planning, inventory, order to cash).
Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment, and to lead and drive complex operational initiatives. Good business judgment, strong conviction and confidence to communicate effectively with business partners.
Excellent ability to take charge, motivate others, set objectives, lead by influence, and drive to results. Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to surface and resolve conflicts diplomatically.
