POSITION SUMMARY
The Compliance Coordinator, under the direction of the Home Health Director, is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a compliance program for Home Health that ensures all pertinent state and federal laws, regulations, and standards are followed and adhered to. Responsible for identifying and assessing areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; providing compliance training and education to all levels of personnel. Responsible for establishing and maintaining audit controls and measures. Responsible for conducting regular, periodic audits of defined areas/functions to assess compliance; conducting investigations of misconduct, reporting detected offenses; and implementing action/resolution to identified misconduct. Other responsibilities will be assigned as appropriate.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Required:
BSN
Preferred:
Masters in Nursing, Business Administration or related field
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Required:
1 year Home Health experience
1 year compliance experience
Preferred:
3-5 years Home Health experience
3-5 years compliance experience
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES and/or REGISTRATIONS
Required:
Current license or work permit to practice nursing in South Carolina
Valid SC Driver's license with good driving record
Preferred:
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to withstand long hours of standing, walking, sitting, stooping and bending
Must be able to respond calmly and efficiently in crisis situations
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Manual dexterity, good eye/hand coordination, acceptable vision, and hearing needed in daily work.
Effective communication skills with command of the English language written and verbal
Sit and view computer monitor for extended periods of time
Cope with customers and respond calmly
Strong organizational skills

EXPOSURE LEVEL
Category I:
Position includes tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids and tissues.
Category II:
Position includes task that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues, but employment may require performing unplanned Category I tasks.
Category III: Position includes task that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids or tissues.
This position would never be required to perform Category I tasks.
