Description Perform moderately complex investigations to protect the Bank from known or suspected internal or external criminal activities, with primary focus on money laundering and Bank Secrecy Act issues. Major Areas of Accountability u2022Investigate moderately complex money laundering schemes requiring proficient experience in conducting investigations. u2022Identify weaknesses in Bank policy and procedures which may place the Bank at financial risk and suggests improvements to those policies and procedures. u2022Perform moderately complex investigations to protect the Bank from known or suspected internal or external criminal activities, with primary focus on money laundering and Bank Secrecy Act issues, Areas of investigation include terrorist financing, money laundering fraud schemes, structuring, and illegal money service businesses. u2022Demonstrate proficiency in investigative practices associated with an experienced investigator: conduct interviews, collect data, compile documentation and evidence, maintain accurate notes, develop initial and ongoing reports of investigations; accurately and timely completion of Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR). u2022Retrieve information and review transactional activity extensively using the Banku2019s data systems. u2022Prepare comprehensive reports of investigation. Refer cases for criminal prosecution where appropriate. Qualifications Qualifications Education Required: u2022Two years post-secondary education or relevant work experience; OR u2022BSA/AML certification from a financial industry group (i.e. CRCM, ACAMS, CFE, etc.) Preferred: u2022Four-year degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, International Studies, Criminal Justice, or related field. Work Experience/Skills: Required: u2022Two or more years of banking, accounting, or financial industry experience; OR u2022One year of research or investigations experience in a fraud, security, banking/financial operations, or law enforcement environment; OR u2022Six months of Bank Secrecy Act research or investigations or successful completion of the TCF BSA internship program. AND u2022Basic knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Actu2019s Sanctions, Currency Transaction Reporting, Suspicious Activity Reporting, Know-Your-Customer, and Enhanced Due Diligence provisions, along with related guidance or enforcement by the Office of Foreign Assets Control, Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council, PATRIOT Act, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and U.S. Treasury. u2022Demonstrated ability to prioritize and complete workload in a timely, effective manner. Attention to detail, accuracy and good organizational skills. u2022Strong research skills; proficient in the use of various desktop and internet-based applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook). u2022Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including phone skills and writing skills. u2022Strong analytical skills and decision-making skills.
