Environmental Compliance Jobs description
Environmental compliance manager manages special waste approvals and investigates findings about the environment. The environmental compliance manager tracks laws and regulations that might affect the organization’s policies or practices. He assists operations management in maintaining compliance with air quality, wastewater and storm water permits, and issues. He conducts environmental investigations and waste acceptance programs. The environmental compliance manager deals with regulatory agencies. He coordinates site inspections. The environmental compliance manager provides compliance support and direction and plans, implements and conducts programs to train managers and employees in compliance requirements and practices. He is also responsible for including techniques for handling hazardous materials, chemicals, and toxins in view of existing standards.The job candidate should be:
• BS in related field of scientific study
• HAZ MAT certification preferred
• Waste or transportation industry experience preferred
• Some supervisory/management experience or project management experience required
• Experience with regulatory agencies required
