GENERAL SUMMARY:The Vendor Compliance Analyst, Merchandise Operations is responsible for driving internal and external compliance measures regarding purchase order and vendor set up. The Analyst will identify non-compliant operations and assess patterns that merit business process change and/or vendor charge. The Vendor Compliance Analyst plays a key role in driving margin, reacting to business operations that could result in lost sales and/or undesirable inventory position.

 

REPORTS TO: Manager, Merchandise Operations

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Develop and maintain compliance standards for our vendor partners to protect the company and hold vendors accountable to standard practices. *Regularly communicate with buying teams and vendors when compliance issues arise. *Apply vendor charges as warranted through monitoring purchase order confirmations and vendor set up *Ensure appropriate service level agreements (SLA) are in place to enable timely execution of orders and receipts *Proactively identify process opportunity with purchase order management, enhance and implement improved business tools and process *Develop reporting to track deadlines and adherence *Partner with buying teams to influence vendor action within established SLA *Collaborate with Vendor Finance, Transportation, DC/FC to aggregate vendor offenses and issued charges *React to product damage and return rate to determine vendor driven quality issues and initiate RTV, cost concession, or charge back *Responsible for new vendor set-up in Jesta, as well as consignment vendor support *Partner to resolve issues with Advanced Ship notices, EDI transmissions, and UPCs • Remove obstacles preventing timeliness of the purchase order process, including research and resolution of PO issues

REQUIRED SKILLS:

*Ability to analyze and derive actionable observation from large data set *Subject matter expertise regarding purchase order, vendor relations, transportation and receiving *Possess both ‘big picture' thinking as well as understanding tactical components *Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, conducts responsibilities with urgency and a high level of accountability and quick turnaround times *Self-motivated, takes initiative and is curious, driven, flexible, and adaptable *Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and collaborates cross functionally *Strong oral and written communications skills, ability to tailor message to all levels of the organization & vendor *Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel *Must possess strong attention to detail and organizational skills. *Influencing skills across multiple internal teams to ensure actions are executed

EXPERIENCE: 

*1-3 years Previous experience in analytical field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

*Lives the DSW Values of passion, accountability, collaboration, and humility *Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint and Word

EDUCATION:

*Bachelor's degree required
