AML is an acronym that stands for ''anti money laundering.'' The international world of banking tries hard to keep each and every illegal practice of money laundering out of their financial institutions. They do not want anything to do with money laundering, because if they end up drawn into a money laundering scam they pay an extremely high price for it.

AML compliance jobs are highly confidential positions. Banks from all over the world are constantly looking for qualified candidates for these jobs. AML compliance managers manage the AML processes on a day -to-day basis. They oversee the work of AML officers. The reviewing of processes that already exist is part of the job description, but so is the drafting and implementing of new processes. AML compliance managers have to make sure that all precautions in place are also implemented and taken care of, and when reform becomes advisable they inform their superiors of the situation. The working of the financial institution where they are hired should see a considerable improvement. AML compliance jobs are of extreme importance to any bank or financial institution, for that matter.

Most financial institutions look for candidates who have worked in the international banking world already. Experience is highly valued in this profession and opens new doors like no other. Personal performance is extremely important in the banking world. The main task of AML compliance employees is to make sure that money laundering never becomes an option.

Banking experience is an important prerequisite for the job, but there is more to it than that. A bachelor’s degree in business is an absolute must to be hired. Certifications or diplomas in anti-money laundering compliance or a law degree with experience in the business or the banking world are very helpful when you apply for these kinds of jobs. Legal knowledge on how to deal with the problem of money laundering is very helpful for those who work in an AML compliance position. AML compliance employees need extensive training on everything that has to do with financial accounts. They have to know all there is to know about all the products of the bank they work for. They also need to have great communication—verbal and written—and analytical skills. They need to know how to best interpret all regulatory needs of the banking system.

Job opportunities are not restricted to banks on American soil. Banks all over the world hire AML compliance employees and Americans work in this position in exotic places like Dubai and Tokyo. The financial rewards of these job positions are great. Six-figure salaries are not uncommon. Good AML compliance employees are highly appreciated because they prevent a lot of trouble that could be caused by fraudulent people who call themselves customers of the bank. The criminal world is always looking for new opportunities for money laundering. It is up to the AML compliance employees to be educated on everything that is going on so that problems can be immediately analyzed and approached appropriately. AML compliance officers need to investigate any transaction that could raise doubt. Giving crooks a hard time to do business is essential to keeping the international finance world respectable.

What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
