If not then try to enroll yourself in an institution providing training in compliance. However, apart from all the training a compliance officer must have good delegation skills should have excellent conversational skills, management skills, and leadership qualities.

A career in the field of compliance in the public or private sector is both interesting and lucrative. To understand more about compliance do some research and reading on the topics so that you have a better understanding of the opportunities available to you in the job market. As a compliance officer you will be responsible for maintaining the ethics and best practices of an organization. As more and more corporate private and public sector organizations are becoming aware of the dangers of losing ethics over issues in the market amidst competition, the need for a compliance officer has increased to a great extent as almost every reputed company wants to ensure that it's employees are adhering to all laws and norms within the organization and wants to ensure hassle free functioning.

Jobs and career prospects in compliance are mostly found in the banking and finance sectors as it is here that most laws are regulated with care especially in the banking sector. Jobs in the field of compliance are mostly available in large organizations which have their own legal departments. A compliance officer will also look into the integrities of an organization ranging from advertising norms to brochures and sales terms to ensure that the company adheres to all laws and regulations and works in the interest of the consumers and itself. In fact, even internal auditing in many cases is executed by a compliance officer. Thus it becomes important for a person pursuing a career in the compliance industry to have studied law so that he or she would possess all the knowledge regarding the norms and strategies followed by an organization and by all means must be able to strategize, plan, and decide how to control and regulate the same.

Apart from being a challenging career prospect, a career in compliance can be quite lucrative too. A compliance officer at a top level position could earn up to $206,800 as a package or $180,600 if he or she is working as an in-house ethics officer. A Corporate Manager of Ethics and Compliance could well earn up to $120,000. However the salary of a compliance officer will always vary in different industries with experiences held in this field of competition. Apart from being so lucrative, a compliance officer is also responsible for sharing the best practices and consultations that would be beneficial for the company and its employees within the organization.
