Trade Compliance Jobs description
Trade compliance jobs are associated with the issuance of export and import policies, procedures, methods, and practices to facilitate better implementation of company objectives. Trade compliance officers are responsible for providing valuable expert insights concerning the requirements and obligations of exporting and importing various goods related to defense services. A trade compliance manager also directs corrective action as necessary to follow compliance measures.The trade compliance officer plays a key role in ensuring that the requirements and business processes associated with cross-border movements function smoothly, while also ensuring that issues and risks are identified and managed efficiently. A trade compliance job demands concentration on global customs regulation frameworks such as harmonized tariff schedules, customs valuations, import VAT rules, and various other matters.
Those wishing to pursue a career in trade compliance should consider the following:
A BS/BA in business or international studies is preferred.
Experience in compliance risk analysis and familiarity with its valuation methodologies is required.
A demonstrated expertise in custom issues and issue resolution is also required.
